KatadataOTO – The Metro Jaya Regional Police have confirmed that Operation Keselamatan 2025 will be strictly monitored. In addition to using static and mobile electronic ticketing or ETLE, enforcement can also be done manually for certain violations.

Thus, more violations can be caught, creating a deterrent effect on offenders.

“Violations such as forging or not installing license plates, as well as the use of strobe lights, will be handled manually," said Police Grand Commissioner Latif Usman, Traffic Director of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, as reported by Antara (11/02).

Monitoring will be focused on several locations considered prone to violations, including Gatot Subroto, MT Haryono, Sudirman, and Thamrin streets.

Furthermore, they are also prepared to inspect public transportation and its drivers. The goal is to ensure that all vehicles and their operators are in prime condition.

"We plan to conduct checks at terminals or directly at the vehicle fleet depots," he said.

Then for the drivers, Latif mentioned that there will be urine and alcohol tests.

It was previously reported that the police are holding Operation Keselamatan 2025 from February 10 to 23. This activity is an effort to increase traffic safety awareness before the implementation of Operation Ketupat during Ramadan.

This is because during that period, vehicle traffic will increase quite rapidly. This activity is also a routine agenda carried out every year.

In addition, Operation Keselamatan will also serve as an evaluation for the police regarding public discipline in driving.
