KatadataOTO – The police will implement traffic management measures to welcome the arrival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Bogor Palace. This is important to reduce the risk of congestion that could hinder the mobility of the state guest.
The traffic management measure to be implemented is the diversion of vehicle flow when the state guest's motorcade passes. The police have also prepared a contraflow scheme around Tugu Kujang up to Gate 1 of the Bogor Palace.
The state guest's motorcade route will be different from the one usually taken by the President of Indonesia. This is claimed to speed up President Erdogan's journey to the meeting location.
“For state guests, the route is from Baranangsiang, then a contraflow towards Tugu Kujang, continuing to the Amaris Intersection, then entering Jarat Harupat street, and finally arriving at Gate 1 of the Bogor Palace,” said Kompol Yudiono, Head of the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit, as reported by Antara (12/02).
Additionally, they will also halt traffic flow at the 5A Integrated Intersection or Baranangsiang when the state guest's entourage enters the toll road at KM 38. The flow of public vehicles from the Jagorawi toll road will be diverted to the Baranangsiang Intersection to reduce congestion.
Furthermore, vehicles from Ahmad Yani street towards the fountain in the direction of Denpom will be temporarily diverted to RE Martadinata. Cars and motorcycles at the 9A BOTR Intersection heading to Amaris will be diverted to Pandu Raya.
Although the meeting between the two heads of state is scheduled to end at 14:00 WIB, traffic congestion is expected to continue. This is because the 'Rainy City' is currently holding the Cap Go Meh celebration, which will resume after the state visit is over.
"The Cap Go Meh Festival will be held after the state guest event and will only close Suryakencana street," he explained.
Nevertheless, the Bogor City Transportation Agency has prepared a number of alternative routes to avoid traffic jams. These include Roda, Padasuka, Warung Bandrek, Ranggagading, Lawang Saketeng, Pedati, and Cincau streets.
In addition, they will also ensure that no vehicles are parked on the roadside along the event route.
“We will place personnel at each blocking point to ensure smooth traffic flow,” said Marse Hendra Saputra, Head of the Bogor City Transportation Agency.
