KatadataOTO – The Metro Jaya Regional Police will implement traffic engineering during the 2025 Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR). This measure is being taken to ensure the event runs smoothly.

However, Police Commissioner Robby Hefados, Head of the Operational Development Section (Binopsnal) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas), emphasized that the policy is situational. Therefore, the public can still pass through.

"It's already in place, but the traffic engineering will only be implemented situationally. We have prepared for traffic security," he said, as reported by Antara (14/08).

He also revealed that traffic engineering will be applied during the arrival of VVIP convoys, starting with the President and Vice President as they head to the DPR/MPR RI building.

"Traffic engineering will only be carried out when the motorcades of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Vice President approach the MPR/DPR RI building," he affirmed.

Meanwhile, the routes and entry points for invited guests and state guests in attendance have also been prepared. Thus, it is hoped that their journeys will remain secure.

During the event, Prabowo Subianto will deliver the State of the Nation Address as the Head of State in the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI.

On the same day in the afternoon, he will also deliver the President's State Address regarding the Introduction/Government Statement on the Bill on the 2026 State Budget and its Financial Note during the Plenary Session for the Opening of the First Session Period of the DPR RI for the 2025-2026 Session Year.

Despite the traffic engineering, Jakarta's odd-even restriction will still be fully implemented. Dozens of roads will still be affected by this rule.

Therefore, the public is advised to use public transportation. Especially since the government has provided these facilities with many options such as TransJakarta, KRL, LRT, and MRT.

Thanks to this, it is hoped that public mobility will be maintained even though the capital's streets are congested with traffic engineering.
