KatadataOTO – Traffic management on the Puncak, Bogor route will be stricter than in previous years. This is to anticipate the severe congestion that usually occurs in the area.
Moreover, the Puncak route is an alternative route to several major cities in West Java, such as Bandung. Not only that, the area is also expected to be a tourist destination for travelers, making the congestion even worse.
“We will ensure that the traffic management scenario in Gadog for the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday is well-prepared,” said Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, as reported by the National Police Traffic Corps (11/03).
The prepared scenarios include a one-way and alternating traffic flow system. It will be implemented starting from D-7, D-2, to D+2 and D+5 of the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Therefore, the public is expected to adjust their travel schedules to avoid traffic congestion.
To avoid severe congestion, officers will be stationed at several prone locations such as Cisarua Market and the Megamendung intersection. Both locations are known as congestion hotspots and must receive special attention from officers.
“The traffic conditions have been predicted to determine when to implement the alternating traffic flow or one-way system. All peak flow situations are calculated at Cisarua Market and the Megamendung intersection,” he then affirmed.
Previously, it was reported that the Ministry of Transportation predicts 114.54 million people will travel for the 'mudik' exodus during Eid al-Fitr 2025. They will use various modes of transportation, both private and public.
Of that number, private cars are predicted to be the most popular mode of transportation. Impressively, an estimated 33.69 million people, or 23 percent, will use them to go to their hometowns.
Meanwhile, buses are the next favorite mode of transportation. It is recorded that 24.76 million people, or 16.9 percent, will use buses, followed by trains with 23.58 million people (16.1 percent).
Travelers using airplanes are estimated to reach 19.77 million people (13.5 percent). Meanwhile, 12.74 million people (8.7 percent) will use motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the peak of the 'mudik' flow is expected to occur on D-3. At that time, the number of departing travelers will likely reach 16.8 million people.
