Prabowo's Entourage Goes Viral for Giving Way to Fire Truck, As It Should Be

KatadataOTO – Recently, President Prabowo Subianto has become a topic of conversation among netizens. This is because a video has spread showing the official vehicle motorcade of Indonesia's number one person.

Quoting the Instagram account @faktabdgnews on Tuesday (17/06), Prabowo was in a four-wheeled vehicle with the license plate RI 1.

The car was seen being escorted by a number of Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) both in front and behind.

They were traveling on a toll road to a destination. However, it wasn't long before a fire department (damkar) vehicle wanted to pass.

Seeing this, a number of the escorting officers immediately gestured by waving their hands.

This was done to give way to the fire truck that wanted to overtake President Prabowo Subianto's motorcade.

"Respect for setting an example and being alert for people in urgent situations," wrote the Instagram account.

The post immediately drew many responses from netizens. They praised the action taken by President Prabowo Subianto's motorcade.

"Truly very cool, hopefully other officials with official license plates will also be wiser on the toll road," said the account @erwin_amsori.

On the other hand, the action of President Prabowo Subianto's motorcade is a common thing. Because it is what must be done on the road.

Considering that fire trucks are the vehicles with the highest priority. This is stated in Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ).

In Article 134, fire trucks occupy the first position to be prioritized. This is followed by ambulances carrying sick people.

Third are vehicles for providing assistance in traffic accidents. Then, vehicles of the leaders of the State Institutions of the Republic of Indonesia.

Fifth are the vehicles of foreign state leaders and officials as well as international institutions who are state guests.

In sixth place are funeral processions. Then, vehicle convoys for specific purposes according to the judgment of the Indonesian National Police officers.

Meanwhile, in Article 135, it is stated that vehicles that have priority rights as referred to in Article 134 must be escorted by police officers.

They must also use red or blue signal lights and sirens while on the highway.

Based on the two articles above, it is indeed appropriate for President Prabowo Subianto's motorcade to give way to the fire truck.
