KatadataOTOShell has just sold all of its gas stations (SPBU - Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar Umum) in Indonesia. This decision is certainly quite surprising for consumers.

Many people are worried they will no longer be able to buy Shell fuel (BBM - Bahan Bakar Minyak) in the future.

However, the British oil and gas company has confirmed that Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and its other products will still be sold to consumers.

“Shell’s gas station business operations will continue as usual,” said Susi Hutapea, Vice President of Corporate Relations for Shell Indonesia, in an official statement on Friday (23/05).

This means car and motorcycle users can still enjoy Shell fuel sold in Indonesia.

Moreover, the Shell brand will remain in the country through their licensing agreement. This allows the new owner to use the Shell name in the future.

On the other hand, Shell is not completely leaving the country, as they are still maintaining one of their business lines.

“This business ownership transfer does not include Shell’s growing lubricants business in Indonesia,” Susi emphasized.

The lubricants business will be the main focus for the British company in Indonesia going forward.

For those of you who want to buy fuel today, Saturday (24/05), KatadataOTO has summarized the prices of Shell products.
