KatadataOTO – The scarcity of fuel oil (BBM) at privately-owned public gas stations (SPBU) is still ongoing.
However, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has provided the latest update regarding Shell fuel.
"Vivo was already done yesterday, now the latest news is that Shell is entering the final stage," said Laode Sulaeman, Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of ESDM to Antara, on Tuesday (25/11).
Laode explained that the final stage of negotiations between Shell and Pertamina is a follow-up to the directive from Bahlil Lahadalia, the Minister of ESDM.
So that the fulfillment of fuel at private gas stations can be done immediately. Thus, the public can buy Shell products.
Moreover, some time ago, Pertamina had already supplied fuel to two other private gas stations, starting with Vivo and BP AKR.
In the initial stage, the fuel delivered reached 100 thousand barrels of oil at each gas station.
He also mentioned that Shell has also submitted the volume of fuel it wishes to purchase from Pertamina.
However, Laode could not provide details. Because everything is still in the negotiation process.
"Let's just wait (for the amount of Shell's fuel capacity)," Laode continued.
For your information, Shell had previously agreed to a plan to purchase additional fuel stock through an import scheme via Pertamina.
This was done to meet the demand of motorists. So that scarcity no longer occurs.
"They agreed and indeed had to agree to buy, collaborating with Pertamina," said Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of ESDM, on a separate occasion.
Bahlil said that Shell, BP AKR, Vivo, and even Exxon Mobil proposed a number of conditions when agreeing to the additional fuel import quota through Pertamina.
For example, the fuel purchased is pure fuel or fuel base. So they can do the blending independently.
The next condition is that Shell and BP AKR proposed a joint survey for the purchase of fuel stock.
In addition, both Shell and BP AKR requested transparency in the purchase price of the fuel they receive.
"We want both the private sector and Pertamina to have a fair deal (profit), everything must be open and it has been agreed to have an open book," Bahlil added.
Pertamina also granted Shell's request. They promised to be transparent in the fuel purchase.
Pertamina will have an open book to be transparent. So there will be no increase in the price of fuel that the public will buy.
