KatadataOTO – The Padang-Sicincin Toll Road will be directly monitored by officers from the Traffic Directorate of the West Sumatra Provincial Police. They will be equipped with speed guns to monitor the speed of passing vehicles.

This step is taken to ensure that vehicle speeds in the area are maintained and do not exceed the established regulations.

"Personnel on duty on the toll road will be equipped with speed guns to supervise or monitor the speed of vehicles as they pass," said Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Muhammad Reza Chairul Akbar Sidiq, Director of Traffic for the West Sumatra Regional Police, as reported by Antara.

To ensure traffic supervision and enforcement on the Padang – Sicincin toll road, the Regional Police Traffic Directorate will deploy seven special personnel to patrol every day.

"Seven personnel will be stationed daily and ready to patrol for a full 24 hours," said AKBP Reza.

In addition, Hutama Karya, as the toll road operator, will install electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE). It is hoped that this will help catch traffic violators on the toll road.

"ETLE will be installed at several points to facilitate and monitor drivers who violate traffic laws," he said.

It should be noted that Hutama Karya has officially started operating the Padang – Sicincin toll road without tariffs starting May 28, 2025.

The official tariff-free operation was implemented following the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Public Works (PU) Number 519/KPTS/M/2025 dated May 19, 2025.

He also explained that before its operation, this infrastructure had passed the Functionality Test (ULF) on January 22–24, 2025. The road then obtained an Operational Feasibility Certificate (SLFO) on April 30, 2025, from the Ministry of PU.
