KatadataOTO – The Jakarta Provincial Government is making various preparations ahead of Eid 2025. One of them is by creating traffic management schemes.
This is deemed necessary, considering severe traffic congestion often occurs at several points. Such as at three shopping centers frequently visited by the public.
“Those three areas are Tanah Abang, Kebon Kacang Thamrin City, and Glodok,” said Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, to Antara on Wednesday (03/05).
However, Syafrin was not yet willing to detail what kind of traffic management schemes they have prepared.
Nevertheless, similar regulations will also be implemented at several other points. For example, several tourist locations in Jakarta.
Starting from Ancol, North Jakarta; Ragunan Wildlife Park, South Jakarta; Kota Tua, West Jakarta and TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah), East Jakarta.
Furthermore, traffic management schemes will also be implemented around the Monas (National Monument) area, Central Jakarta, as well as PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) 1, North Jakarta.
Syafrin said this is being done because his party predicts there will be a surge in visitors during the upcoming holiday.
“After the holiday, there is usually a surge of people visiting tourist areas. So we have identified this for anticipation,” he said.
Meanwhile, in terms of infrastructure, the Jakarta Transportation Agency is also preparing four terminals for the homecoming exodus.
For example, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, Tanjung Priok Terminal, and Pulogebang Integrated Terminal.
They are also preparing three auxiliary terminals. These are Grogol, Muara Angke, and Lebak Bulus.
All are used to help ease passenger density at the main terminals. So that the public's homecoming journey becomes smoother.
Additionally, the Jakarta Transportation Agency will also open Eid posts. Operating from March 23 to April 8, 2025.
Lastly, for security during the Eid transportation period, Syafrin will deploy as many as 2,800 personnel.
Thus, it is hoped that all activities of the Jakarta community before and after Eid, as well as the homecoming exodus, can run smoothly.
Moreover, the Indonesian government has predicted that the potential movement of people during the 2025 Eid holiday will reach 52 percent of the total population.
This means there will be 146.48 million people traveling from their residences to their hometowns.
