KatadataOTO – The emergence of a fuel named Bobibos has recently surfaced, especially on social media. This is because the fuel produced by PT Inti Sinergi Formula is claimed to be a new option for the public..
Although claimed to be environmentally friendly, the product must still be tested first. The goal is to ensure that the fuel is indeed as environmentally friendly as promised.
"So, has this gone through a proper study? Is it safe for the environment or not?" said Erwan Setiawan, Deputy Governor of West Java, as reported by Antara (15/11).
He also revealed that his party has not yet received a technical report regarding the fuel made from straw. Even though the research was conducted in his region, namely West Java.
Therefore, he will ask the relevant agencies to also conduct a study.
Reported by Antara, Bobibos is a fuel developed by PT Inti Sinergi Formula. Its name is an acronym for Bahan Bakar Original Buatan Indonesia Bos (Original Fuel Made in Indonesia, Boss).
This product is developed from agricultural waste, especially straw, which is often burned after harvest. Its production involves a bioenergy process and a special serum injection.
The straw is converted into a high-performance fuel. The company even claims it is equivalent to a Research Octane Number (RON) of 98.
Additionally, Bobibos is claimed to be able to reduce exhaust emissions to near zero. This advantage makes it more environmentally friendly compared to fossil fuels.
Straw was chosen as the raw material because it is abundant in Indonesia and affordable. Thus, production costs can be reduced, and the selling price is more competitive than conventional fuels.
Not only that, the use of straw as a raw material also creates new economic value for farmers. This is because the waste, which was previously just burned, can now be processed into a product with commercial value, thus increasing farmers' income.
Bobibos is produced in two variants: gasoline and diesel. Both types of fuel can be used in various vehicles and engines such as motorcycles, cars, tractors, fishing boats, and small-scale industrial machinery.
