KatadataOTO – Mitsubishi Destinator is a tough Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) alternative that offers family-car-like comfort.

The star of the Mitsubishi booth at GIIAS 2025 is available in four variants with several feature differences. However, all are equipped with the same engine, a 1,500 cc capacity with turbo technology.

KatadataOTO had the opportunity to travel from East Jakarta, Pantai Indah Kapuk to the Sentul Circuit, Bogor, using the Destinator with other media crews some time ago.

Taking turns as a passenger and driver, here is a review of the Mitsubishi Destinator driving impression.

Driving Position

The type we used was the Ultimate Premium. Unlike the one we tried at GIIAS 2025 (Ultimate), the driver's seat adjustment in this variant is electric and the audio system is supported by Yamaha speakers.

The seat adjustment is eight-way electric. A female driver around 150 cm tall did not have much difficulty adjusting the driving position.

The feature controls on the center console, which are easy for the driver to reach, are an added value for us.

Because in most of the latest SUVs, especially from Chinese brands, many feature controls can only be accessed through the head unit.

Impression

The journey started from the Mitsubishi office in Pulomas, East Jakarta. At that time, the car was filled with four adult passengers, using Normal and Tarmac modes alternately.

KatadataOTO was in the front passenger seat until the first stop at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK).

The seat adjustment is still manual, but it offers a good seating position. There are storage compartments, including in the door trim, making it easy for us to store belongings like water bottles.
