BYD and VinFast Factories Built on Farmland, Check Out the Facts
Some of the land for the BYD and VinFast factories in Subang, West Java, is reportedly using agricultural land.

As a reminder, the BYD factory is reported to cost USD 1 billion or equivalent to Rp 16.2 trillion. It has a production capacity of up to 150 thousand electric cars a year.
Not only that, the presence of the BYD factory is expected to make Indonesia one of the world's EV production bases.
This is because BYD plans to export the nation's domestically-made electric four-wheeled vehicles abroad.

On the other hand, the VinFast factory stands on a 170-hectare plot of land and involves an investment of USD 200 million or around Rp 3.2 trillion.
It consists of several main areas such as the Body Shop, General Assembly Shop, Paint Shop, testing area, and others.
After officially operating, the factory will start producing a number of VinFast cars. For example, the VF 3, VF 5, up to the VF e34.
