KatadataOTO – BYD Sealion 7 officially launched at IIMS 2025. This electric car features innovative functions to pamper its loyal customers.

As the third part of the Ocean Series after the Dolphin and Seal, the BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with V2L (Vehicle To Load), W-HUD (Windshield Head-UP Display), and iTAC (Intelligent Torque Adaptive Control) features.

The vehicle, designed by Wolfgang Egger, highlights a futuristic design by combining the beauty of the ocean with harmonious elegance.

“The Sealion 7 is tangible proof of BYD's dedication to delivering high-quality electric vehicles. This SUV not only offers outstanding performance but is also equipped with advanced features,” said Eagle Zhao, President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia in an official broadcast (20/02).

Introduced as an electric car, it naturally uses the Blade Battery. BYD's superior battery technology, known for being safe and efficient.

Using the NEDC method, the electric SUV's battery is claimed to be able to cover a distance of 567 km. The vehicle itself supports a fast-charging system up to 150 kW.

In less than 30 minutes, the battery can be charged from 30 – 80 percent. It also comes with an 11 kW AC charging capability.

It is also mentioned that the BYD Sealion 7 carries 8 of the most advanced components in one unit. These are the VCU (Vehicle Control Unit), BMS (Battery Management System), MCU (Motor Control Unit), PDU (Power Distribution Unit), DC-DC controller, onboard charger, drive motor, and transmission.

Integrating the above technologies into the unit makes the car more efficient and keeps the cabin space roomy.

It becomes even more interesting because the BYD Sealion 7's regenerative system can convert 90 percent of braking energy into power. It is even claimed to be able to increase the driving range by about 10 percent.
