If it were to be engulfed in flames, it would become a disaster that is very difficult to handle.
Considering that batteries in electric cars have electrodes placed close together, this increases the likelihood of a fire.
Especially since they are filled with a flammable electrolyte fluid. Thus, the risk of a fire burning for a long time cannot be avoided.
In addition, one of the components in electric car batteries is metal oxide, which tends to release oxygen gas when heated.
That oxygen enables the combustion reaction. The liquid and gas can ignite, producing more heat and gas.
This is why burning electric cars are very difficult to extinguish. Although batteries have far less energy than gasoline, they produce their own oxygen when they burn.
