Leapmotor Challenges Mercedes, Becomes an Airline Shuttle

As part of the Stellantis Group, the brand will be marketed in Indonesia alongside Citroen and Jeep.

Just like the two previous brands, Leapmotor will debut in the country through the Indomobil Group.

“One of the closest ones, hopefully, can be introduced (Leapmotor), but it cannot be announced yet. We are waiting for the official launch,” said Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of PT Indomobil National Distributor in Jakarta some time ago.

The Leapmotor C10 is touted as a new competitor to the Aion V. This model is actually available in two options: EV and range extender.

However, looking at the EV trend in the country, it is highly likely that Leapmotor will first introduce the pure electric version of the C10 to Indonesian consumers.

In Malaysia, the Leapmotor C10 debuted with a price tag of around RM 149,000, or equivalent to about IDR 547 million.

In terms of specifications, the Leapmotor C10 is equipped with a 69.9 kWh capacity battery that can provide a range of up to 424 km (WLTP) on a single charge.

Meanwhile, when used in the city, its claimed range is further, at 574 km.

The power produced by the electric motor is 214 hp with a peak torque of 320, delivered to the rear wheels (RWD/rear-wheel drive). Its maximum speed is 170 km per hour.

There are still several automotive exhibitions that could potentially be the venue for the Leapmotor C10's debut, such as GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025.
