KatadataOTO – The Chinese electric car brand, Leapmotor, seems to be getting closer to the Indonesian market. It should be noted that the brand will be launched under the Indomobil Group.

Recently, Leapmotor launched a new right-hand drive product, the B10, in the Malaysian market. The B10 is their second product after the C10 in Malaysia.

For the first 200 units, the Leapmotor B10 is offered at a special price ranging from RM 99,800 to RM 109,800. This figure is around IDR 411.3 million to IDR 452 million when converted to the rupiah exchange rate.

Although available in an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) option, the Leapmotor B10 in Malaysia is sold only as a pure electric car.

The Leapmotor B10 is a 5-seater Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). Its closest competitor, if it enters Indonesia, would be the Geely EX5.

Two variants of the Leapmotor B10 are offered to consumers. The first is the B10 Life, which uses a 56.2 kWh battery with 215 hp and a peak torque of 240 Nm.

Meanwhile, the second type, the B10 Design, is equipped with a larger 67.1 kWh battery and produces 215 hp and 240 Nm of torque.

In terms of range, the Leapmotor B10 is claimed to be able to travel between 361 kilometers and 434 kilometers based on the WLTP testing method.
