KatadataOTO – Audi is a premium brand from Germany that sells cars under the Indomobil Group. However, its sales in Indonesia are not as good as other luxury brands like BMW.

According to Gaikindo data, in the January-November 2025 period, Audi sales at the retail level (distribution from dealers to consumers) were 14 units.

Its monthly sales also stagnated at only one to two units. Then in July, Audi did not sell any cars at all.

Meanwhile, one of its competitors, BMW, recorded retail sales of 2,143 units in the same period. Its sales were between 200 to 300-plus units per month.

Another luxury brand, Mercedes-Benz, recorded sales below BMW, but managed to deliver 1,170 units to consumers this year.

The lowest sales figure for Mercedes-Benz was in January with 62 units. After that, it stagnated in the range of 70 to 100-plus units each month.

Facing increasingly fierce competition in 2026, Audi seems to need to think about a strategy to survive in the automotive market.

Audi is also reportedly planning to bring in the electric car E-Tron. Its competitors, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, have each already introduced several electric car models for consumers in the premium segment.

For your information, Audi currently relies on several models for sale in Indonesia, including Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and sedans.

Referring to its official website, the models offered are A4, A4 sedan, A6 sedan, Q3 RS 4 Avant, Q3 Sportback, Q5, Q5 Sportback TFSI e, Q7, Q8, A5 sedan and A8 sedan.

As for the price, Audi offers cars with a price tag in the range of Rp 1 billion to over Rp 2 billion.

Its closest rival, BMW, also has a similar price range. However, its model variety is greater, and BMW also offers several models under Rp 1 billion.

That strategy seems to help BMW's sales figures in the country and targets younger generation consumers.

For example, the locally assembled 218 Gran Coupe M Sport is priced at Rp 918 million off the road. Then there is the BMW X1 sDrive18 xLine at around Rp 927 million.
