The BMW Astra dealer hopes to continue to maintain the positive sales performance achieved last year.
KatadataOTO – Luxury car sales recorded positive results amid various economic challenges last year.
It should be noted that some consumers postponed purchases while awaiting certainty on the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).
The policy includes reduced import duties, including for four-wheel vehicles.
Dealer official BMW Astra assesses that the challenges of selling luxury cars or vehicles in the premium segment this year will still be similar to 2025.
Besides awaiting IEU-CEPA, there are consumers in business sectors waiting for a stable economic situation before purchasing a luxury car.
"(The challenges) are still like last year. We hope there will be an increase," said Teguh Widodo, Operation Manager BMW Astra in Jakarta some time ago.
Teguh assesses that over time and with various government programs, he hopes Indonesia's economic conditions can gradually stabilize.
According to him, improvements in the lower-class economy will also affect the higher levels.
"Those suppliers are (the) premium-segment customers. I'm confident that if government spending continues to be poured in, the premium segment will move. If the lower (class) rises, the upper will certainly be driven," said Teguh.
He hopes that throughout 2026, BMW sales, specifically from official dealers under Astra's umbrella, can once again record positive results amid various challenges.
For information, BMW was the best-selling luxury car brand in Indonesia throughout 2025.
In total, BMW retail sales or distribution from dealers to consumers reached 2,450 units. This does not include Mini sales of 506 units.
In second place, the premium sub-brand Toyota, Lexus, sold 1,523 units, followed by Mercedes-Benz with 1,277 units.
At the bottom of the ranking is Audi with retail sales of 17 units throughout 2025.
To sustain sales, BMW recently expanded its dealer network in the Mampang area of South Jakarta.
The newest BMW Astra dealer, like other outlets, has adopted the Retail.Next concept, prioritizing customer comfort and ease of vehicle service.
BMW Astra Mampang is the ninth facility nationwide under the Astra flag.
