“In terms of dynamics, the car has powerful and responsive acceleration as well as comfortable handling,” said Kohei Shibata, Program Manager at Mazda Motor, on the same occasion.
For your information, a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) combines the performance of a gasoline engine and an electric motor with a larger capacity battery compared to a mild hybrid model.
A PHEV car can be charged with electricity like an electric car, but it can also still use gasoline like a conventional vehicle.
Therefore, there is an EV (Electric Vehicle) mode, where the car relies solely on the electric motor and battery. The claimed driving range offered is 60 km on a single full charge.
