Predictions for New Cars Entering Indonesia in 2026: Part 2
31 December 2025, 18:00 WIB
Various new car models from brands such as Toyota to Suzuki are set to arrive, with the majority being electrified lineups.
KatadataOTO – The Indonesian automotive market will still see many new products next year. Interestingly, a number of premium class brands will debut in 2026.
The majority of them are brands from China, filling the electrification line-up, both hybrid and pure electric.
It seems that many environmentally friendly vehicles will be offered to consumers in the country throughout 2026.
The economic condition, which is predicted to slowly recover next year, will be a capital for a number of manufacturers to be more confident in presenting new products.
Just like in 2025, next year there will be many automotive exhibitions that manufacturers can use for the momentum of launching new brands and products.
In full, here are KatadataOTO's predictions for new cars coming in 2026.
Toyota seems to still be focusing on hybrid cars as an efficient environmental vehicle alternative, which does not fully depend on the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) ecosystem.
This Japanese brand has been observed to have registered a patent for a new car, namely the latest generation RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
It should be noted that the RAV4 PHEV GR Sport was previously introduced in Indonesia. But this year, its name is absent from Toyota's official website.
The price is quite high, in the range of IDR 1 billion. This matches the price of the bZ4X electric car before it was locally assembled, IDR 1.19 billion on the road in Jakarta.
This time, the RAV4 PHEV will also be presented with a conventional hybrid technology option. So the price can be lower.
