KatadataOTO – There's a new year's gift for motorcycle and car owners in West Java (Jabar). Because in 2026, the motor vehicle tax (PKB) will not increase.
Of course, this is quite a positive thing. Because people can fulfill their obligations more easily.
“For private vehicles, two-wheeled and four-wheeled, there is no tax increase; it remains the same as in 2025,” said Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java on his personal Instagram account, Tuesday (06/01).
Besides PKB, Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) also did not increase the Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee (BBNKB) in the West Java region for 2026.
A breath of fresh air for the public. So they do not need to spend additional funds this year.
Moreover, various reliefs were also provided by the number one person in Bandung, Bogor to Cirebon.
Dedi Mulyadi said that the West Java Provincial Government also lowered the tax rates for yellow-plated vehicles.
For passenger transport, which was previously taxed at 60 percent in 2025, it is now only 30 percent.
“Meanwhile, yellow plates for freight transport, which were previously charged at 100 percent, have now been reduced to 70 percent,” Dedi Mulyadi affirmed.
It was further mentioned that the West Java Provincial Government's decision not to raise vehicle taxes is based on several reasons.
For example, to support the public transportation and logistics sectors. Then, to lighten the burden on business actors in West Java.
Dedi Mulyadi also appreciated his citizens who have been diligent in paying motor vehicle tax. Because it can bring good impacts.
Such as equitable development in West Java, especially for the construction and repair of roads.
“From the taxes paid, today the roads in West Java are smooth, wide, many are equipped with sidewalks, many are equipped with parks, many are equipped with PJU (public street lighting), have drainage, have CCTV,” continued KDM.
He stated that thanks to the public regularly paying motor vehicle taxes, the West Java Provincial Government has the funds or budget to carry out development.
Therefore, the Governor of West Java reminded the public to continue to raise awareness in fulfilling their obligations.
“Don't have a nice motorcycle, a nice car, looking dashing on the highway but not wanting to pay taxes,” concluded Dedi Mulyadi.
For your information, citing the official website of the West Java Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), the private motor vehicle tax rate for the first ownership is 1.12 percent.
Meanwhile, for the second ownership, it progressively reaches 1.62 percent, the third ownership 2.12 percent, the fourth ownership 2.62 percent, and the fifth ownership and so on 3.12 percent.
Details of the above policy can be seen in the West Java Provincial Regulation Number 9 of 2023.
