KatadataOTO – The tax amnesty for DKI Jakarta vehicles is being held again. This policy is implemented to make it easier for people who want to fulfill their obligations as car or motorcycle owners.

To date, the motor vehicle tax has been one of the important regional revenues for development. Therefore, various methods are used to make it easier for the public to comply.

With this program, penalties for people who are late in paying their vehicle taxes are waived. This was announced in a post by the Metro Jaya Regional Police on their X account on November 7, 2025.

“The Tax Amnesty or Waiver of Tax Penalties and Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee (BBN) Penalties program is effective from November 10, 2025, to December 31, 2025,” they wrote.

To take advantage of this program, there are several requirements that the public must prepare.

Requirements for the DKI Jakarta Tax Amnesty

  • Original and photocopy of the Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK)
  • Original and photocopy of the Motor Vehicle Ownership Book (BPKB)
  • Original ID card (KTP) matching the name on the STNK and its photocopy
  • Power of attorney (if represented)
  • Money corresponding to the principal vehicle tax amount for 2025

It was previously reported that the vehicle tax amnesty for DKI Jakarta had actually been completed on August 31, 2025. At that time, the program was given as a gift from the government to the public on the capital city's anniversary.

Not Just DKI Jakarta

Besides DKI Jakarta, several other regions are also implementing a motor vehicle tax amnesty until the end of the year. One of them is Bengkulu province, which has been holding it since August 14.

The policy is stated in the Bengkulu Governor's Decree Number I.393.BAPENDA of 2025. This convenience is expected to attract the public to fulfill their obligations as they no longer need to worry about being fined.

“We hope the public's burden can be lightened and that it encourages awareness of paying taxes for the development of Bengkulu," said Helmi Hasan, Governor of Bengkulu some time ago.

Interestingly, the relief is not limited to fines but also includes tax surcharges and title transfer fees.
