KatadataOTO – The history of Daihatsu as a car manufacturer in the world is quite long. For 100 years, this manufacturer has continued to evolve, producing innovative products.

To introduce the brand's journey, a museum named Humobility World was established. Located next to the Daihatsu Motor Headquarters in Ikeda, Osaka, Japan, the museum was built in 2007.

This facility was built as a tourist and educational means to learn about the history of Daihatsu manufacturing. It's interesting because the general public can visit free of charge without prior reservation.

Humobility itself is said to come from a combination of the words Human and Mobility. As a reflection of Daihatsu's philosophy in providing easy, efficient, and friendly mobility freedom for all.

The Daihatsu Humobility World itself starts on the 2nd floor, displaying their first production as a manufacturer.

In 1907, a company named Hatsudoki Seizo Co., Ltd. produced diesel engines to aid agricultural irrigation.

In other words, a tool to pump water into rice fields, thus helping the agricultural sector that had difficulty getting water from rivers.

The engine was used for approximately 20 years. Each year, the tool worked for 1,000 hours.

Then they made a three-wheeled vehicle named Daihatsu in 1935. Starting from that three-wheeled motor, the company eventually used the name Daihatsu.
