KatadataOTO – Buying a used car requires carefulness to avoid being deceived by dishonest sellers. The decision must be made wisely.

Especially for first-time car buyers who are filled with high enthusiasm. As a result, many consumers regret choosing the wrong unit.

Because a used car that looks smooth isn't necessarily ready to be driven comfortably. There could be potential damage to the engine, suspension, or electrical system.

To minimize losses, using a trusted mechanic is one of the best solutions. However, there is also the option of hiring a vehicle inspection service.

“We often encounter first-time car buyers who regret their purchase after the transaction because the car's condition did not meet their expectations,” said Ardyanto Alam, CEO of Garasi id in a press release quoted (02/11).

According to him, a thorough inspection is considered important, especially for inexperienced consumers.

Garasi id itself offers a used car inspection service. Their coverage is said to include more than 170 comprehensive check points.

This can ensure that the consumer's desired car is free from hidden problems and is roadworthy.

Then, the detailed car check service covers the engine and transmission, braking system, suspension, undercarriage, electricals, interior features, safety systems, indications of a previous collision or flood, basic functions of the AC, wipers, and fuel system.

The inspection for manual and automatic transmission units is also different. For automatic transmissions, technicians focus on detecting gear shifts and slippage.

Meanwhile, for manual transmissions, it includes the condition of the clutch and manual gear shifting.

“We ensure the inspection is carried out by experienced technicians. Even for LCGCs or cheap rental cars, the standards remain comprehensive,” explained Ardy.

He further said that everyone has the right to know the condition of the car they are about to buy.

The inspection results will be provided in a complete digital report within 24 hours. It is accompanied by photo documentation, easy-to-understand technical explanations, and repair recommendations.

“We want to give a sense of security to buyers, especially those who have never bought a car before. With a clear report, they can negotiate more confidently,” said Ardy.

The inspection fee is offered starting from Rp 299 thousand for small cars like LCGCs. Using an inspection service can save tens of millions on car repair services.
