KatadataOTO – After experiencing setbacks, Jaecoo has finally officially delivered at least 3,000 units of the J5 to its customers. This number is believed to grow larger after they increase their production capacity in the country.
However, the deliveries can only fulfill orders up to early November 2025. This is because the orders for the Jaecoo J5 are quite large and have exceeded initial calculations.
“We have delivered around 3,000 units, and that only fulfills orders up to the first week of November 2025. Production will continue to be ramped up to meet demand as quickly as possible,” said Zheng Shuo, President Director of Chery Group Indonesia, some time ago.
Despite efforts to increase production capacity, he emphasized that vehicle quality will be maintained. This is important to ensure customer satisfaction after waiting too long for their units.
He also apologized for the long vehicle delivery times. He promised to ensure that customers who have been waiting can get their cars soon.
“Please give us more time to fulfill the orders,” he then asserted.
It was previously reported that Jaecoo has collaborated with Inchcape to produce their vehicles. Therefore, the J5 will certainly be produced in two locations simultaneously.
This decision is certainly interesting as it can rapidly increase production capacity. Thus, it is hoped that customer needs can be met soon.
However, Chery was reluctant to disclose how long the collaboration with Inchcape Indonesia will last.
It should be noted that orders for the Jaecoo J5 itself have reached 12,000 units as of the end of December 2025. This number is expected to continue to increase, especially approaching Eid al-Fitr 2026.
The Jaecoo J5 is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 155 kW (207.8 hp) and a peak torque of 288 Nm. This power is generated from a 60.9 kWh capacity battery, enabling the car to travel up to 461 kilometers (NEDC) on a single full charge.
Owners also don't need to worry about charging issues, as a 130 kW fast charging feature is available. Charging from 30 percent to 80 percent only takes 28 minutes.
