KatadataOTO – Entering the end of 2025, the new motorcycle market showed a positive performance. Something that needs attention.

Considering the many obstacles facing the automotive industry this year. This then impacted the public's purchasing power.

The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) predicts that the performance of the new two-wheeled vehicle market will continue to increase and exceed targets.

“The target is between 6.3 million and 6.4 million units, hopefully it can be surpassed,” said Sigit Kumala, Head of the Commercial Division of AISI, to KatadataOTO, on Tuesday (31/12).

Sigit also admitted to being happy with what happened. Because the motorcycle industry was able to survive throughout 2025.

It even managed to show growth this year. Becoming a fairly good achievement in 2025.

“Hopefully, it can exceed 6.4 million (new motorcycles),” Sigit affirmed.

As a reminder, AISI reported that in November 2025, 523,591 units were distributed from factories to dealers (wholesales).

The number above shows a weakening of up to 11.31 percent when compared to the previous month's figures.

This is because in October 2025, new motorcycle wholesales in the country had reached 590,362 units.

However, when compared to November 2024, it shows an increase. Reaching 2.08 percent from 512,942 units.

Meanwhile, in total, new motorcycle wholesales throughout 2025 successfully reached the level of 5,950,844 units.

The figure above has already surpassed last year's total of only 5,929,830 units. There is a difference of about 0.35 percent higher.

This result can be considered quite good. Considering the many obstacles throughout 2025 that affected new motorcycle wholesales.

On the other hand, AISI also reported wholesales of new two-wheeled vehicles in the export market. In November 2025, it recorded 43,426 units.

It was again corrected by 11.39 percent when compared to 49,009 units in October 2025.

In total, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, TVS, and Kawasaki successfully exported 502,592 two-wheeled vehicles from January to November 2025.

Looking at the data above, it is not impossible that new motorcycle wholesales could reach 6.4 million units or even exceed it.

This could happen, considering that at the end of the year, manufacturers usually compete to entice the public.

Such as by presenting various attractive programs. For example, discounts, tenor reductions, to light installment options.
