KatadataOTO – It seems some people have started the homecoming for Lebaran 2025 in recent days. This is because Korlantas (the National Police Traffic Corps) has recorded an increase in vehicle flow.

Especially those passing through the Japek Toll Road (Jakarta-Cikampek). The police stated that on Friday (21/03), 62,000 cars passed through.

However, that number increased by eight percent to 67,979 four-wheeled vehicles on Saturday (22/03).

“Then for (vehicles) entering from the east towards Jakarta, there was a decrease of 14 percent,” said Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso, Director of Law Enforcement of the National Police Traffic Corps, on the official Korlantas Polri website, Sunday (23/03).

Nevertheless, Slamet said that the traffic flow on the Japek Toll Road is still safe and under control. There is no potential for vehicle buildup yet.

Therefore, the public is advised not to worry if they want to start their Lebaran 2025 homecoming journey now.

In addition, he assured that police officers are always on standby and actively managing traffic on the toll road.

He also mentioned that there are now 18 applications integrated into one to monitor traffic flow.

“With various scenarios that we have prepared well in advance. Such as the contraflow pattern, traffic engineering, then the delay system, and so on, are still running well,” Slamet continued.

The Director of Law Enforcement also urged the public to take advantage of the holiday period which has started from March 21.

The public is asked to arrange their departure dates. So they don't get stuck in long traffic jams as is usual during the Lebaran homecoming.

Lastly, he also advised the public to always check the condition of their vehicle and the driver's physical fitness before undertaking a long journey.
