Isuzu Indonesia has seen its market share increase, reaching 28.6 percent as of October 2025.
KatadataOTO – PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) stated that its flagship products are becoming more attractive in the country's automotive market. This is proven by their increasing market share.
Especially in the commercial vehicle segment, Isuzu's market share reached 28.6 percent. This is based on data from Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries) from January – October 2025.
It was mentioned that the Elf model achieved a market share of 23.3 percent, the Giga 17.5 percent, and the Traga dominated the market with 47.2 percent.
It was further stated that Isuzu Indonesia is the only brand with a TKDN (Domestic Component Level) certificate across its entire product line.
“In total, there are 34 variants of Isuzu vehicles, all of which already have a TKDN certificate,” said Rian Erlangga, Business Strategy Division Head of PT IAMI, in a press release quoted on (10/12).
According to Rian, the TKDN for the Isuzu Traga is already over 44 percent. Meanwhile, the Isuzu Elf has reached 33 percent and the Giga has exceeded 35 percent.
All certificates were obtained for each product in stages.
Isuzu's positive achievement is said to be in line with the growth of Indonesia's logistics business. The government itself states that the transportation and warehousing sector is very influential.
“By the end of 2025, the logistics sector will contribute around Rp 1,500 trillion to the National GDP. That figure is up 9 percent from last year, which reached 8.69 percent,” said Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, on a separate occasion.
The growth of Isuzu's commercial vehicles is due to the positive response from customers. A number of companies actively added fleet units in 2025.
“Of course, as a transportation company, we look for efficient vehicles, so that operational costs are lower. Isuzu is overall 35 percent more fuel-efficient,” said Rahadian Tanjung, Project and Contract Logistic Vice President of PT Pos Logistik Indonesia, in a press release.
According to him, this year PT Pos Logistik Indonesia increased its fleet by 100 percent.
So in total, their units now exceed 500 units throughout the country. This includes rental units from PT Mobilitas Digital Indonesia (Moda).
It was also said that besides being efficient, Isuzu's commercial vehicles have proven durability. Their after-sales service is also extensive.
“Unit operations are secure, their (Isuzu's) technicians come to us. This is important because operational transport must not stop, so it is very helpful,” said Rahadian.
