Luthfi further stated that this relief is in accordance with Central Java Governor's Regulation (Pergub) Number 31 of 2024.

It explains the management of regional receivables. From the implementation of this tax relaxation based on the governor's regulation, it is hoped to stimulate the collection of PKB receivables up to Rp 2.8 trillion in Central Java.

On the other hand, the Provincial Government of West Java has already done something similar. They will waive fines and arrears on the public's motor vehicle taxes.

"We apologize if the West Java Provincial Government has not provided the best service for its citizens. We also forgive the mistakes of the people who have been in arrears on their motor vehicle taxes until now," said Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java, on his personal Instagram account.

Dedi has set a deadline from April 11 to June 6, 2025, to renew taxes at the new rate for this year, without settling the previous year's arrears.

"However, for those who do not pay their taxes two months after Eid 2025, then untaxed vehicles should not be on district and provincial roads," the Governor of West Java asserted.
