KatadataOTO – A demonstration is once again taking place in front of the DPR RI Building complex. Crowds have started arriving from various regions.

They are gathering and crowding the road in front of the people's representative building, causing traffic flow to be disrupted.

The police moved quickly to prevent long traffic jams. At 10:37 AM WIB, Gatot Subroto Street was closed.

“Traffic from the direction of Semanggi towards Slipi is temporarily diverted to Gerbang Pemuda Senayan Street,” read the announcement on the @tmcpoldametrojaya Instagram account, Thursday (28/08).

Car and motorcycle riders who have activities are asked to avoid the area around the DPR RI Building.

This is because today's demonstration is expected to be attended by thousands of people, potentially causing vehicle buildup in the area.

“Please follow the directions of the officers on site for our shared convenience and order,” they continued.

On the other hand, it's not just the area in front of the DPR RI building that is closed. Medan Merdeka Selatan Street in Central Jakarta is also impassable.

Starting from the Arjuna Wijaya Statue (Horse Statue) towards the DKI Jakarta City Hall is closed, following today's demonstration.

“We apologize to all road users for causing traffic congestion. But rest assured that what we are fighting for is for all the people of Indonesia,” said Don Muzakir, General Chairman of Tani Merdeka, to Antara.

Once again, car and motorcycle riders are asked to find alternative routes while the demonstration is ongoing today.

Transjakarta Affected

Meanwhile, a number of Transjakarta routes are affected by today's demonstration, forcing them to divert several routes.
