KatadataOTO – The DKI Jakarta government will once again hold Car Free Night to welcome New Year's Eve. No less than eight stages will be spread from the Patung Kuda Roundabout to the Senayan Roundabout.
Therefore, the Directorate of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Regional Police will implement various traffic engineering measures in several locations to support the smooth running of the event. The public is also expected to adjust their travel times and routes to avoid congestion.
"There are several traffic engineering measures that we will implement. Road closures will be carried out from the Patung Kuda Roundabout to the Senayan Roundabout,” said Police Commissioner Robby Hefados, Head of the Operations Section (Kabag Ops) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Traffic Directorate, as reported by Antara (28/12).
The closure will be in effect from 6:00 PM WIB to 2:00 AM WIB. During the traffic engineering, the police will deploy 1,500 joint personnel with the regional Traffic Unit (Satlantas).
"Especially on roads affected by congestion on New Year's Eve,” Robby added.
For people who want to use private vehicles, several parking areas have been provided. Thus, it is hoped that the event can proceed in a more orderly manner and traffic will be maintained.
During the Christmas and New Year 2026 holidays, the DKI Jakarta government will implement various traffic engineering measures. This step is taken to avoid congestion, especially in several major tourist locations.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency also claims to have prepared various scenarios at several points. Starting from Ragunan Zoo, the National Monument (Monas), Ancol, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) to the Kota Tua area.
"The arrangements are situational, including the possibility of road closures or traffic diversions based on developments on the ground," said Syafrin Liputo, Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), as reported by Antara some time ago.
