A two-day adventure with the Jetour Dashing Inspira variant, challenging the Hyundai Creta and Honda HR-V.
It was a different story when the gas pedal was pressed down hard on the toll road. Even the steep and long inclines of the Padalarang toll road could be conquered with ease.
The floor-mounted gas pedal, typical of European cars, adds more comfort. Especially in long traffic jams.
The steering at high speeds felt light; in our opinion, it was too risky and required adaptation when making quick maneuvers.
Conclusion
Offered as a 5-seater SUV, the Jetour Dashing has the ammunition of a powerful engine supported by a nimble transmission.
Unfortunately, this car from China is not equipped with a complete ADAS system. Whereas its competitors in the same class already have it embedded to assist the driver.
One example is the lack of an Adaptive Cruise Control feature, which can spoil the driver on the toll road.
Sitting in the back seat, the position is too sunken in. The thin and flat seat foam also makes the vehicle's ride feel harsh.
Marketed at a price in the Rp 400 million range, the Jetour Dashing could be an attractive option for the public.
