First Impression Chery Tiggo 9 CSH, Combines Power and Luxury

KatadataOTO – PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) is presenting its flagship model, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH, a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), for Indonesian consumers at the GIIAS 2025 event.

This car has larger dimensions than its predecessor, the Tiggo 8 CSH. It also has several other advantages, such as the inclusion of an Automatic Parking Assist feature.

The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is expected to meet the needs of families who want a comfortable family car that is still tough enough to tackle various road conditions, including off-road.

The design language of this car is still similar to the Tiggo 8 CSH. The main difference that is immediately visible is its size.

KatadataOTO had the opportunity to try the unit directly at the Bridgestone Proving Ground and test its performance, acceleration, and comfort.

Driving Position

Sitting in the driver's seat, the seating position is similar to that of the Tiggo 8 CSH.

It's easy to adjust because the settings are electric. The steering wheel can also be easily adjusted electrically using a button on the left rear side of the wheel.

Therefore, even though it is a large SUV, the driver still gets a wide forward view and feels more confident while driving.

However, the placement of the transmission lever on the right stalk behind the steering wheel is a point of concern.

It takes some getting used to because gear changes are not made via a knob or lever on the center console.

Driving Sensation

On the first route, KatadataOTO drove the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH through an area with an uneven road surface at a speed of around 40 km/h.

This was intended to demonstrate the comfort of the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH's suspension and its soundproof cabin, which prevents the sound of tire friction on the asphalt from being intrusive.
