KatadataOTO – Yamaha Aerox Alpha arrives at the end of 2024. The motorcycle features a new look with touches in various sectors.

In its appearance, sharper and more defined angles are visible. This supports the sporty character built since the first generation.

Then, the engine section still relies on the previous version. However, changes have been made to the drive system with YECVT (Yamaha Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission) technology.

The manufacturer with the flapping wing logo also implemented a new, stronger chassis. Making the vehicle's handling more agile.

To support handling, the Yamaha Aerox Alpha is also equipped with the latest suspension components. As a result, the motorcycle's maneuvers become more stable.

The unit's electronic system also received a refresh. The update to this component is expected to eliminate problems often experienced in the previous generation.

Yamaha Aerox Alpha Track Day

Taking place at the Sentul Karting circuit, Bogor, West Java, dozens of journalists had the opportunity to try the unit for the first time. The event location itself was chosen because it was considered to aptly represent the character of the iron horse.

“Aggressive riding and agility in maneuvering on the circuit track are suitable for this motorcycle. With maximum performance, it provides a pleasant riding experience, as proof of the Aerox Alpha's quality,” said Rifki Maulana, Manager Public Relations, YRA & Community PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM).

Riding Impressions

KatadataOTO was one of the participants at the Yamaha Aerox Alpha Track Day on January 15, 2025. Each participant was given the opportunity to test all variants of the Aerox Alpha.

Starting from the Standard, Cyber City, to the Turbo versions. Each rider was given 3 laps on each variant.

We ourselves got to try the Turbo type for the first turn. The initial lap was used as a warm-up to get the tires working optimally.
