Investment by Automotive Manufacturers in Indonesia Reached IDR 174 Trillion

Toyota remains the largest car manufacturer in Indonesia throughout 2024, despite a decrease in its figures.

KatadataOTO – Car production in 2024 experienced a significant decline compared to last year's achievements. This is evident from the data published by the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries or Gaikindo.
From January to December 2024, the total vehicle production in Indonesia was recorded at 1,196,664 units. This amount is 199,053 units smaller compared to the same period last year, which was 1,395,717 units.
The highest number occurred in October 2024. At that time, the total number of cars produced was 111,245 units.
Of that total, Toyota still dominates with a record of 516,997 units or 43.2 percent of the total national car production. This figure represents a decrease of 72,265 units compared to last year's results.
The second position is held by Daihatsu after producing 163,509 units or 13.7 percent of the total national production. This figure is also down by 23,668 units from last year's 187,177 units.
Mitsubishi Motors became the third-largest manufacturer by production, recording a total of 137,255 units (11.5 percent). This amount is 17,104 units less than last year's achievement of 154,359 units.
Honda remains in fourth position after producing 95,564 units (8 percent). That figure is down 38,198 units from the previous 133,762 units in 2023.
Interestingly, Hyundai managed to increase the number of vehicles they produced to 85,674 units. That figure is 6,117 units more than last year's 79,557 units.
This record places them in the fifth position of the largest producers in Indonesia, causing Suzuki to drop to sixth place. The manufacturer with the S logo only produced 73,437 units or 6.1 percent.
Whereas in 2023, they were able to produce 110,126 units, or 36,689 units more than this year.
This number is expected to improve in 2025, considering several new manufacturers are entering the country.
