20 Best-Selling Car Brands in 2025, Toyota and Daihatsu at the Top

KatadataOTO – New car manufacturers have just closed their books for the 2025 period. There are some excellent records for several producers.

As seen in the 20 best-selling car brands last year. According to data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), Toyota is still in the lead.

The Japanese brand managed to record retail sales, reaching 258,268 units.

Meanwhile, Daihatsu successfully maintained its position as the number two best-selling car brand in 2025.

Daihatsu managed to book an achievement of up to 137,835 units. A quite positive achievement.

In third place is Honda with 71,233 units. Followed by Mitsubishi Motors with an achievement of 70,338 units.

For your information, the top five is owned by Suzuki. This Japanese manufacturer achieved 64,838 units.

On the other hand, BYD successfully finished as the number six best-selling car brand, after selling 44,342 four-wheeled vehicles.

BYD's sales skyrocketed after several products became favorites. For example, the Atto 1, which recorded quite positive results.

Meanwhile, Wuling is in the seventh position of best-selling car brands in 2025. They recorded retail sales of 20,607 units.

Hyundai follows right below. This South Korean brand sold 19,664 units throughout 2025.

Next is Chery, which secured the ninth position. In Gaikindo's data, they recorded retail sales of 19,485 units.

In the top ten best-selling car brands, the spot belongs to VinFast with an achievement of 10,630 units.

It should be noted, Gaikindo's data also mentions that new car sales in 2025 exceeded the target of 780 thousand units.
