KatadataOTO – The Honda Brio had to give up its title of best-selling car to the Toyota Avanza after its sales experienced a decline. Based on Gaikindo data, the model only managed to record wholesales of 4,000 units and sits in third place.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Avanza, which sits as the best-selling car in March 2025, successfully shipped 5,069 units from the factory to dealers. This number is an increase compared to the previous month's achievement of only 2,775 units.

Meanwhile, the second position is occupied by the Daihatsu Sigra after shipping 4,309 units. That number improved compared to February, which only recorded wholesales of 3,296 units.

The Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix is in fourth place with wholesales of 3,062 units. Meanwhile, the Toyota Calya closes out the top five after shipping 2,639 units to dealers from the factory.

Although Japanese manufacturers still dominate, brands from China are also increasingly present in the top 20. At least four electric cars from China have entered the list.

The best-selling model is the Denza D9, which successfully shipped 1,587 units and became the 10th best-selling model throughout March 2025. Then there is the BYD M6, which recorded wholesales of 1,293 units and sits in 12th place.

Next is the BYD Sealion, which holds the 13th position with wholesales of 1,182 units. Meanwhile, the Chery J6 is in 18th place after releasing 987 units to dealers.

In general, wholesale car sales in Indonesia in March 2025 experienced a decrease compared to the previous month. It was recorded that only 70,892 units were shipped to dealers, down from February which reached 72,336 units.

With this, throughout the first quarter of 2025, sales reached 205,160 units, a decrease from the same period last year of 294,911 units.
