KatadataOTOBYD is still undefeated among the 7 best-selling electric car brands in Indonesia. As was the case last month, or July 2025.

Processing data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the Chinese manufacturer leads the Electric Vehicle (EV) market.

According to Gaikindo data, BYD successfully delivered 2,827 units of electric cars from dealers to consumers (retail sales). Up from the previous 2,172 units in June 2025.

Looking at the data above, there are several factors why BYD is able to dominate the best-selling electric car brands in Indonesia. One of them is because they provide a variety of products.

Starting from the BYD Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal to the Sealion. All are marketed at very competitive prices.

So consumers can adjust to their financial capabilities when they want to buy a BYD electric four-wheeled vehicle.

In addition, BYD has just launched the Atto 1 with a lowest price of Rp 195 million. It could be an option for first-time car buyers.

Thus, BYD's electric car sales in the following months are predicted to skyrocket.

On the other hand, Aion follows its compatriot after successfully selling 771 electric cars throughout last month.

Not to be left out, Denza completes the top three. The brand from China managed to sell 423 EVs in July 2025.

Right below it is Geely, after recording retail sales of 213 units in July 2025. Then followed by Xpeng with 56 units.

Meanwhile, Neta, which is struggling with financial problems, was still able to sell 31 electric cars in the country in July 2025.

Overall, retail sales of electric cars in Indonesia throughout July 2025 were at the level of 4,336 units. Slightly higher than June, which was only 4,257 units.

Here, KatadataOTO summarizes the 7 best-selling electric car brands in Indonesia in July 2025 based on data from Gaikindo.
