KatadataOTO – Aion is one of the Chinese electric car manufacturers that entered Indonesia in 2024. They have just introduced a BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) line for domestic consumers.

However, the existence of incentives for hybrid cars was also welcomed by Aion. This is because in the global market, they have already prepared HEVs (Hybrid Electric Vehicles), both conventional and EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicles).

According to Aion, the Indonesian public tends to trust hybrid cars more than electric ones. So, the incentives can support various manufacturers in bringing these products to Indonesia, including Aion.

“We will announce (the product) when the time comes. Indonesia still trusts hybrids,” said Andry Ciu, CEO of Aion Indonesia, on the sidelines of IIMS 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran some time ago.

He emphasized that several new products will be introduced by Aion in the Indonesian market throughout 2025. This is not limited to pure electric cars, but also includes hybrids.

“For every Auto Show, we will launch a new product. So please come to all the exhibitions,” said Andry.

Recently, GAC Motor in its home country prepared the Hyptec HT, a product targeting consumers in the premium class.

The Hyptec HT has a larger capacity than other Aion models in Indonesia, as it can accommodate up to six passengers and has a spacious cabin.

Its fascia uses a lighting system with a Three-Dimensional Crystal Lamp Column concept that looks futuristic and elegant.

Its posture resembles a red Maybach GLS SUV, as its body is wrapped in smooth curves and uses spoke-style wheels to reinforce the luxurious impression of the Hyptec HL.

The BEV type of the Hyptec HL is said to be able to travel up to 750 km on a single charge. However, there is also an EREV hybrid model, similar to a conventional hybrid but using a battery with a larger capacity.

The Hyptec HL EREV is said to be able to travel up to 1,200 km on a single battery charge and with a full tank of gasoline.

It is possible that this SUV will be brought to the Indonesian market as it is still a trend and is quite in demand by consumers.

Moreover, the SUV offered by GAC Motor still has the function and feel of an MPV, or family car. This makes it a special attraction for potential buyers.
