Aletra has made a revision, claiming that L8 order figures have exceeded 700 units since the GJAW 2024 automotive exhibition.
KatadataOTO – PT Aletra Mobil Nusantara launched the L8 electric-powered MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) at the GJAW 2024 (Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week) event.
Revising previously reported information, Aletra has confirmed that so far, the number of orders for the Aletra L8 has reached 700 units.
“The internal team double-checked again to ensure the accurate figure, which has reached 700 units,” wrote an Aletra representative in a statement to KatadataOTO on Tuesday (14/1).
Previously, it was known that Aletra had secured more than 300 SPK (Vehicle Order Letters) at the GJAW 2024 automotive exhibition.
During the exhibition, the owner of several toll roads in Indonesia, Jusuf Hamka, also placed an order for 150 units of the Aletra L8.
Later, the 150 units of the electric car Aletra L8 will be used as operational vehicles, supporting employee mobility on toll roads in Jabodetabek and throughout Indonesia.
Unit deliveries will be made sooner for the lowest trim, in March or April 2025. Meanwhile, those interested in the highest variant will need to be patient until June 2025.
According to a statement from Aletra, most consumers are actually interested in the most expensive trim, despite having to wait longer than for the standard trim, due to several factors.
“Indonesian people like to be prepared, even if they might not travel from, for example, Jakarta to Surabaya even once every two years. The important thing is to have the 'weapon' or the vehicle,” said Djoko Purwanto, Technical Director of Aletra in South Jakarta, on Monday (13/1).
Besides being prepared for long journeys, infrastructure is also one of the reasons consumers buy the most expensive trim, because of its long range.
To address this challenge, Djoko revealed that Aletra plans to help develop the supporting ecosystem, namely SPKLU (Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations), in several regions.
The hope is to minimize consumer anxiety about using their electric vehicles for long-distance travel.
The Aletra L8 is sold with a price tag of around Rp 435 million to Rp 488 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta. The main difference between the lowest and highest trims is the driving range and the type of battery used.
