KatadataOTO – Hongqi, a premium brand from China, will officially enter Indonesia in mid-2025. The brand will be marketed under PT IMG Sejahtera Langgeng, a subsidiary of PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk.

Although the products to be introduced have not been detailed, in the global market, Hongqi has a number of products in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), and luxury sedan segments.

Looking at the official Hongqi Global website, there are four electric cars offered: the E-HS9, E-QM5, EH7, and EHS7.

The Hongqi E-HS9 is a three-row configuration SUV, capable of accommodating up to seven passengers in its cabin.

Its dimensions are quite large, with a length exceeding five meters. More specifically, the Hongqi E-HS9 has a length of 5,209 mm, a width of 2,010 mm, and a height of 1,731 mm, while its wheelbase is 3,110 mm.

In terms of exterior, Hongqi's signature large grille is also featured on this model. At a glance, its design language is identical to Rolls-Royce, without many additional ornaments.

The luxurious impression of the Hongqi E-HS9 is emphasized by the use of chrome accents on several parts such as the grille and side mirrors.

The top variant of the Hongqi E-HS9 is equipped with a 120 kWh battery, offering a range of over 515 kilometers on a single charge (WLTP).

Not only that, the top two types of the Hongqi E-HS9 SUV, namely the Flagship and Long Range, are equipped with an Air Suspension feature.

The second electric car model is the Hongqi E-QM5, which is a sedan. The E-QM5 has a smaller battery capacity of 54 kWh, providing a range of 431 kilometers.

While previous models are synonymous with luxury cars, the EH7 sedan emphasizes a sportier feel.

Hongqi EH7 is available in four types. Its highest variant uses a 111 kWh battery.

Thanks to this power storage, the EH7 can travel at least 640 kilometers on a fully charged battery.

Lastly is the 5-seater EHS7 SUV. This particular model seems to have a great opportunity and will fill a quite potential segment in Indonesia.

The EHS7 SUV has an exterior design similar to the EH7 sedan, appearing minimalist and elegant without many additional ornaments.

Besides electric cars, Hongqi also has a lineup of luxury vehicles such as sedans and limousines like the Guoya.

It is not yet certain which Hongqi models will be marketed in Indonesia, but their arrival is worth waiting for.

Hongqi will become a new option for luxury vehicles for both personal and institutional needs, a market that has long been dominated by German brands like Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
