KatadataOTO – Towards the end of 2025, retail sales of luxury cars (distribution from dealers to consumers) are slowly recovering. After dropping to 391 units in October, the figure rose to 400 units in November.

Of the seven luxury car brands in Indonesia, BMW remains in first place with 176 units sold. This figure is up 2.3 percent from the 172 units achieved in October.

Following behind is Lexus, which delivered 89 units to consumers throughout November 2025. The increase from October is 12.6 percent.

However, Mercedes-Benz actually experienced a decline. In October, they managed to deliver 78 units, which dropped to 76 in the following month.

Meanwhile, Volvo once again recorded a positive trend. The brand delivered 22 units to buyers towards the end of the year.

Total sales for luxury car brands in November 2025 were 400 units, an increase of 2.3 percent compared to October.

Overall, new car retail sales in Indonesia increased by 4,590 units in November to 79,310 units, up from a total of 74,720 throughout October.

Compared to retail sales in the same period last year, there was a 3.7 percent increase from the figure of 76,473 units.

Then, looking at new car retail sales for the January-November 2025 period, the total is 739,977 units, approaching the revised target from Gaikindo of 780,000 units.

The automotive industry is believed to still face sales challenges this year, including luxury car manufacturers.

“To date, we see that there might be some (consumers delaying purchases). Because some BMW customers are business people,” said Jodie O’tania, Director of Communications for BMW Group Indonesia in Jakarta recently.

Facing this, various manufacturers are preparing attractive sales programs to attract consumer interest.

Not to be missed are the mall-to-mall exhibitions held in certain shopping centers. So the public can get a closer look at the vehicle lineups from a range of luxury car brands.
