KatadataOTO – Throughout November 2025, BYD became the best-selling electric car brand in Indonesia. Retail sales (distribution from dealers to consumers) reached 8,243 units.

Their newest model, the BYD Atto 1, seems to have successfully attracted many new consumers thanks to its competitive price below Rp 200 million.

In second place is Aion with retail sales of 377 units. This was followed by Denza, BYD's premium sub-brand, which delivered 290 vehicles to buyers.

Newcomers like Xpeng recorded an increase in November 2025. Xpeng's retail sales figure in November 2025 was 152 units, an increase of 46.1 percent from October's achievement of 104 units.

Xpeng itself has just marketed two products for Indonesian consumers, namely the G6 and X9. The Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) X9 has Completely Knocked Down (CKD) or locally assembled status.

Overall, a number of manufacturers experienced a decline in sales at the end of the year. Polytron, for example, experienced a decrease from 103 units to 58 units.

Of all electric car brands, only BYD managed to record figures above 1,000 units as of November 2025.

Denza's retail sales figures have also started to stabilize at 200-300 units after having reached 1,000 units per month in March, June, and July.

Meanwhile, Geely, which previously only marketed electric cars, is now starting to offer the Starray EM-i, a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
