Best-selling Hybrid Cars May 2025, 3 Luxury MPVs Remain in Top 10

KatadataOTO – Wholesales of hybrid cars throughout May 2025 were around 4,000 units, starting to lag behind the achievements of BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles).

The presence of increasingly varied electric cars gives consumers more choices.

Speaking of wholesales (distribution from factory to dealer) for hybrid cars, the first position is still occupied by the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix HEV with 2,539 units.

The second rank is filled by one of Suzuki's flagship products, the XL7. Although down from April's achievement (727 units), the XL7 still follows the Innova Zenix, contributing 612 units.

Interestingly, three luxury MPVs (Multi Purpose Vehicles) from Toyota and Lexus are still holding on in the top 10.

The Lexus LM 350h 7-seater and 4-seater recorded a result of 187 units, followed by the Toyota Alphard HEV with 89 units and the Vellfire HEV in 10th place with 32 units. These three models are priced at Rp 1 billion and above.

In April 2025, 727 units of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid were distributed. But the following month, Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries) data showed zero wholesales for that model.

The newest product from PT CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia), the Tiggo 8 CSH, debuted in third place with 394 units, the only PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) to enter the top 10.

The Nissan Serena e-Power MPV was knocked out with an achievement of 8 units. Whereas in April 2025, its wholesales were 72 units.
