KatadataOTO – BYD sales globally in February 2025 recorded growth compared to the previous month. The Chinese car manufacturer reportedly sold 322,846 units, an 8.9 percent increase from January's 296,446 units.

The company's high sales figures in February were due to the end of the Lunar New Year holiday. Therefore, it is not surprising that demand increased quite rapidly.

Sales outside of China are also claimed to have experienced significant growth. According to CarNewsChina, BYD exported 67,025 vehicles, an increase of 187.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

Their ambition to dominate the global electric car market continues and its direction is becoming clearer. Moreover, BYD plans to have eight vehicle transport ships by 2026.

Currently, they already operate four ships to transport vehicles to various parts of the world. The newest and largest unit is the RoRo ship BYD Shenzhen, which has been in operation since January 16, 2025.

The facility is capable of transporting 9,200 vehicle units in a single trip.

List of Global BYD Sales

  • BYD (Dynasty and Ocean series): 304,673 units
  • Denza: 8,513 units
  • Fang Cheng Bao: 4,942 units
  • Yangwang: 105 units

BYD Sales in Indonesia

Meanwhile, BYD's sales in Indonesia are considered quite positive. Based on Gaikindo data, the Chinese manufacturer recorded retail sales of 1,005 units throughout January 2025.

That result was enough to make it the 12th best-selling manufacturer in Indonesia, capturing a market share of 1.6 percent. They have even surpassed the sales of several brands like Mazda, BMW, and MG.

However, looking at the wholesale results, their achievement is even more impressive. They reportedly sold 1,114 units and successfully entered the top 10 best-selling manufacturers with a 1.6 percent market share.

This number is expected to continue to increase in the future. Especially since they have just launched a new model, the BYD Sealion 7, which is claimed to have optimal performance on the road.
