KatadataOTO – BYD has announced it has successfully produced at least 13 million units of New Energy Vehicles worldwide. The product that marked this milestone is the Yangwang U7, one of the company's flagship sedans.
Interestingly, they achieved this just eight months after BYD reached the 10 millionth NEV milestone with the Denza Z9 GT in November 2024. This achievement is certainly a special record for the company, considering that sales of environmentally friendly vehicles are currently increasing.
In Indonesia itself, BYD is currently building a factory in the Subang area, West Java. Once this process is complete, it is expected that sales in the country will increase even more.
It should be noted that BYD and Denza have received a positive response from the Indonesian public. Based on Gaikindo data, in the first semester of 2025, BYD's wholesales reached 14,092 units, equivalent to 3.8 percent of the total market in the country.
Meanwhile, BYD's retail sales in the first semester of 2025 amounted to 13,705 units, placing it as the 6th best-selling car manufacturer in the country. They captured a market share of 3.5 percent of total vehicle sales.
Besides BYD, Denza has also received a positive response from the public. The brand has recorded wholesales of 5,733 units, controlling a market share of 1.5 percent and ranking as the 13th largest manufacturer.
Meanwhile, its retail sales totaled 5,003 units. This figure is enough to capture 1.3 percent of the total market and secure the 13th position for largest sales in the country.
That number is expected to be even larger in the future as BYD is rumored to be launching a new product, the Atto 1. The car comes with a simple yet sharp concept.
The car also has fairly compact dimensions: 3,780 mm in length, 1,715 mm in width, and 1,540 mm in height, with a 2,500 mm wheelbase. Thanks to this, the vehicle is believed to be agile when navigating through traffic.
Nevertheless, the vehicle's range is quite impressive, especially since BYD offers two battery options with capacities of 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh. Thanks to this, the Atto 1 can travel between 305 km and 405 km on a full charge.
This power will then be paired with an electric motor to produce 55 kW (73.7 hp) of power and a peak torque of 135 Nm. This amount is considered sufficient to meet the driving needs of the people in the country.
As of this writing, BYD has not yet provided any leaks regarding the price that will be offered. However, some sales representatives have revealed that the price will range from IDR 250 million to IDR 350 million.
