KatadataOTO – Throughout 2024, many new electric cars have been marketed in Indonesia, making the choices for the public increasingly diverse.
At the same time, it tempts automotive enthusiasts to switch from conventional vehicles. Especially since the government is also providing stimulus.
For example, providing electric car incentives throughout 2024, encouraging people to buy an EV (Electric Vehicle).
Therefore, KatadataOTO has summarized the 10 best-selling electric four-wheeled vehicles in the country last year.
Citing wholesales data, or shipments from factory to dealer, from Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries), BYD M6 is at the top.
The product from China managed to become number one with wholesales of 6,124 units in 2024. This is an impressive record for BYD Indonesia.
This is because the electric car was only launched in July 2024, yet it managed to capture the attention of domestic consumers.
Next, below the BYD M6, is the Wuling BinguoEV, occupying the second position after successfully recording 5,156 units.
After that, the BYD Seal follows in the top three. This electric four-wheeled vehicle recorded 4,828 units in 2024.
Meanwhile, the Wuling Air ev pushed into fourth place. The electric car posted wholesales figures of 4,440 units.
On the other hand, the Chery Omoda E5 was narrowly beaten by the Air ev. This product's wholesales were 4,425 units, securing fifth place.
Meanwhile, below that, the competition between BYD and Wuling continues. The Cloud EV managed to secure the sixth position after recording 3,520 units.
The BYD Atto 3 was not to be left behind, capturing seventh place, as its wholesales reached 3,291 units.
Then, the MG 4 EV is in eighth place with 2,340 units, followed by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 after achieving wholesales of 1,561 units.
Finally, the Hyundai Kona EV closes out the list in tenth place. This product from South Korea managed to record 1,196 units.
