KatadataOTO – After its design was registered at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), BYD M9 is known to be officially listed in the Indonesian Intellectual Property Database (PDKI).

For your information, the BYD M9 launched in its home country under the name Xia. The vehicle's appearance is similar to its sibling, filling the premium class, namely the Denza D9 which is sold for around IDR 950 million. However, there is a difference in the powertrain.

The BYD Xia is offered only in a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) option. Shortly after its launch, it was revealed that the model would be sold to the global market under the M9 brand.

It seems the M series will refer to BYD's Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) lineup. In Indonesia, there is already one model, the BYD M6, priced from IDR 300 million to IDR 400 million.

For comparison, the Denza D9 has a length of 5,250 mm, a width of 1,960 mm, a height of 1,920 mm, and a wheelbase of 1,920 mm.
