KatadataOTO – Car modification trends often change every year. Entering 2025, not only gasoline-powered cars, but electric cars are also starting to be widely modified by their owners to enhance the vehicle's appearance.

Indeed, most of these modifications are limited to the exterior only, not engine changes that affect performance.

NMAA (National Modificator & Aftermarket Association) revealed that this car modification trend will be widely seen at the IMX 2025 (Indonesia Modification and Lifestyle Expo) which will be held at ICE BSD, Tangerang this coming October.

“If we look at what trend is currently hyped, the street racing modification trend, especially for JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars, is being favored by our modifiers in Indonesia,” said Andre Mulyadi, Founder of NMAA and Project Director of IMX to KatadataOTO some time ago.

These street racing modifications are also not complex. According to Andre, many modifiers enjoy car modifications that are still comfortable and functional for daily mobility needs.

“On average, street racing cars are considered proper for daily use, for example, for a morning run,” said Andre.

For your information, street racing style modifications generally emphasize a sporty feel for the car. This can be through the use of stickers or additional components like a wing spoiler.

It's not uncommon for owners to also modify the vehicle's interior, such as using a racing-style steering wheel or adding carbon materials to several parts of the cabin.

According to Andre, this series of modifications can be seen at IMX 2025, and also serve as a modification inspiration for interested car enthusiasts.

Besides street racing, Andre revealed that they will feature several other modification styles that are currently in demand.

“At IMX, the curators select modifications from representatives of each car variation. Car types from various styles, for example, if there's offroad we'll take it, street racing, elegant, we'll take them,” Andre affirmed.

If you are interested in modifications, you can visit IMX 2025 on October 10-12, 2025, at ICE BSD, Tangerang. Visitors can enjoy various activities and the regular super giveaway program.
