Changan Confirms Competitive Pricing for Deepal S07 and Lumin EV

KatadataOTO – Two electric cars from Changan will soon hit the roads in Indonesia. They are the Deepal S07 and Lumin EV, respectively.

The public can see these Electric Vehicles (EVs) at the GJAW 2025 event at the end of November 2025.

Unfortunately, there is no specific information yet regarding the price of the Changan Lumin EV or the Deepal S07.

Nevertheless, the brand from China has confirmed that the prices of both products will be competitive for the Indonesian market.

"Like it or not, we have to set a price that is quite affordable, competitive," said Setiawan Surya, CEO of Changan Indonesia in Chongqing, China on Thursday (23/10).

According to him, the pricing strategy will be one of the key tactics to attract more consumers in Indonesia.

Setiawan also hopes that both the Changan Deepal S07 and the Lumin EV will be well-received by domestic consumers.

Moreover, both Changan electric cars are claimed to have various advantages, from their design and features to the technology they carry.

"The most important thing is that we can bring a product that is beneficial for everyone. Changan gets a benefit, the car gets a benefit, and the customer also gets a benefit," concluded Setiawan.

Furthermore, Setiawan explained that Changan will still consider the balance between product quality and also take into account profit margins.

It is worth noting that on the NJKB (Motor Vehicle Sales Value) page, the Deepal S07 (4X2) AT has a base price of Rp 580 million to Rp 611 million.

Meanwhile, the Changan Lumin L DC (4X2) AT is priced at Rp 194 million. Ready to challenge other compact electric cars.

However, it should be remembered that the NJKB is not the benchmark for the actual vehicle price, as it does not include other costs such as taxes.

Therefore, the prices of the Changan Lumin EV and Deepal S07 are certain to be higher than the figures listed in the NJKB.

Directly Assembled Locally

On the other hand, both of these Changan electric cars are said to have Completely Knocked Down (CKD) status.

"Yes (assembled locally), it is currently in the trial process," said Setiawan.

The Changan Lumin EV and Deepal S07 will be assembled directly at the National Assemblers facility owned by Indomobil. The facility is located in Purwakarta, West Java.

The Changan executive also explained that the production process for the Changan Deepal S07 and Lumin EV will begin in November 2025.

Therefore, consumers will not have to wait long if they want to purchase these two Changan electric cars.
